There are various internal factors that affect organisational culture. It can affect an organisation’s productivity, outcome and Success. It is clear that a balanced, effective organisational culture holds the key for the success of an organisation.

Some of the factors influencing organisational culture are :-

Communication :-

Proper communication shows how people share ideas and information and show transparency in their work. Proper communication influences the overall productivity of an organisation. Information sharing or transmission enhances connectivity among various branches in an organisation. Both formal as well as informal communication is needed in terms of day to day activities and long term planning as well.

Recruitment process :-

Recruitment and Selection is a very important aspect in an organisational culture. When an organisation is in high growth mode, then adding new employees is essential.The type of employees hired by an organization has a huge impact on its culture.

Leadership style :-

Leadership is a very important factor that affects organisational culture. The leader makes decisions, communicates with team members, motivates them and sets an example for how to act or behave in a workplace. An effective leader must think about every person they are affecting with their decision. A friendly behaviour of a leader creates emotional bonding among employees and workers working there.

Working environment :-

The work environment has a big impact on organisational culture as well as performance at work. The kind of workplace you have defines how employees undertake their tasks and interact with their colleagues. There should be well designed working hours. Because unplanned workings time builds work stress in employees. Job security is also an important aspect, which can be achieved through a better working environment.

Team work :-

Teamwork means collaboration, communication, sharing of information and respect between team members. When every employee and worker in an organisation supports each other, then it creates a better working environment.

Values, ethics, goals etc :-

The main goal of an organisation can be achieved through the values, ethics and their sets of missions. The main foundation stone of any organisation is its set of values. It is very important for each and every individual of an organisation to understand what values, missions and goals, they are working for. Doing business or working in an organisation which has values, ethics and socially responsible attitudes can create a good image or reputation of an organisation.

Reward and recognition :-

Recognition and rewards influence organizational culture by motivating employees and workers. Acknowledging of achievements is very much needed. It can be in the form of financial incentives, verbal recognition, growth opportunities, promotion etc.If employees feel appreciated, then it enhances their sense of belonging and commitment to the organization.

Nature and type of organisation :-

Organisational culture is also affected by what type of work the employees are working and how they feel about their work. Every employee has to be satisfied with their work.

Apart from these, there are many other factors that can affect organisational culture such as size of the organisation recruitment, management policies, economic environment, technology etc. So, all these factors must be kept in mind while making policies of an organisation which can lead to a successful organisation.

Factors responsible for unethical culture in an organisation :-

There are various levels and various types of manpower involved in a business organisation such as from the top level management to the other employees, laborers, workers etc. A business should run in ethical ways to sustain in the long run. sometimes, some unethical conduct in the workplace may be influenced by various individual factors. So, it is very much important to identify these factors.

Sometimes, an individual associated with any workplace may suffer from work-pressure. High level of pressure, stress, job insecurity, unsatisfied with the job and other Various factors can lead individuals to make unethical decisions. These unethical decisions can be harmful for the organisation in the long run. Every individual has their own values, beliefs and ethical standards. Sometimes these ethical differences in individuals may create conflict and it can lead to unethical activities.

Sometimes an individual feels that he or she is not accountable for the organisation and the actions do not affect anyone in the workplace. That feelings of ignorance may trigger unethical activities. They convinced themselves that what they are doing is justified in that particular circumstances. For that reason, they ignored the ethical aspect of their deeds. Sometimes, it is seen that lack of moral awareness and ethical values may trigger unethical activities in the workplace. It may be due to lack of knowledge on ignorance.

An organisational workforce consists of various structural levels. The lower level management is accountable to the higher level management or the structure is same in case of other co employees, workers as well sometimes, it is seen that have to participate in an indivisual unethical actions due to the pressure of higher authority.

In today’s competitive world, competition is everywhere. Competition of growing faster among the employees of a business organisation is sometimes healthy but it is aggressive and unethical in some cases. some unethical activities may be done due to extreme competition among the workforce in an organisation.

A business organisation should create training programmes in a business organisation. The training programmes should focus on ethical and moral aspects If employees do not receive adequate training and guidance on the ethical aspects, then the workforce may not give importance to the ethical aspects. It is due to that activities reason also, Some unethical may happen in a workplace. So, there are various individual factors which lead to unethical actions in a workplace.

On the other hand, also along with some individual factors, various other factors are also involved in unethical actions in a workplace. Some structural as managerial issues are for ethical degradation in as well also responsible for a business unit. Some of these factors are organisations culture, Leadership behaviour, process of Communication, managerial efficiency, record rewards and promotions etc. Sometimes leadership behaviour may not be good in the communication process and may create obstacles in an organisation process. All these aspects may lead to unethical activities in a business organisation.

In conclusion, it is observed that some individual factors, some organisational factors are responsible for ethical degradation in workplace. So, a business organisation should create an atmosphere of values, morale and ethical obligation in the workplace.
